College Committees

College Committees: The following committees have been formed to ensure the institute’s operational administration functions. This versatility assures that the committees address any issues that stakeholders may have, as well as aiming for improvements within their scope. The following are the several committees:

The purpose of the College Development Committee is to support the administration in providing policy recommendations to management and to take on long-term projects in order to design and implement the institute’s strategic plan. The college has a development committee to look into the overall development of the college. The committee recommends that the administration encourages department staff by providing support and encouragement for high-quality education and training.

The National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) aims at sustaining and promoting a quality culture in higher educational institutions. It is an autonomous body that assesses and evaluates the qualities of education, infrastructural facilities and accordingly accredits grades to the institution’s higher learning. The NAAC visited the college in the year 2018 and accredited B+. The NAAC Committee of the college is undertaking steps for the visit of the NAAC peer team, Bengaluru for re-accreditation. The committee prepares and sends the Self Study Report (SSR) and the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) to the NAAC head-quarters.

The IQAC/NAAC Committee for the period 2019–2024 was composed of dedicated members committed to enhancing institutional quality. This committee played a key role in implementing quality benchmarks, facilitating accreditation processes, and promoting continuous academic and administrative improvements.

The admission committee consists of the Principal as the chairman, the H.O.D. of the U.G. Departments and one teacher for each class. As per the guidelines of department of higher education the committee nominates faculty members as validating officers and officers-in-charge of Helpdesk for the smooth conduct of admission process. The committee is responsible for solving any kind of problem arising during the admission period.

Any purchase made by the college/department/library is passed by the Purchase Committee. It scrutinizes the quotations invited from the firms/suppliers and approves the lowest quotation for an order. The committee consists of the Principal as the Ex-Officio Chairman, Accounts Bursar, Administrative Bursar, and his/her nominated members.

The Discipline Committee maintains discipline in the classroom, on campus, and on the grounds of the college. This committee keeps an eye on the students and makes sure there is no indiscipline. The committee also takes measures in the event of any indiscipline activities. The members of the committee guarantee that the students are disciplined. For indiscipline acts on campus, urgent action is taken.

• Details of Maintenance Committee

The Time Table Committee is responsible for preparing the academic schedule for U.G. and P.G. classes. It ensures that classes are allocated in accordance with the existing college and university regulations. The timetable is structured to ensure that each teacher is assigned classes daily.

The Examination Committee is responsible for organizing and conducting all college examinations, including Monthly, Half-Yearly/Test, and Annual exams. The committee ensures the smooth administration of university examination form submissions and oversees the publication of college examination results. It consists of the Principal as the Chairman and designated nominees as members.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body of the Government of India responsible for coordinating, determining, and maintaining standards of university education. To ensure effective region-wise coverage, the UGC has decentralized its operations by establishing six regional centers. Our college falls under the Pune region and is recognized under the 2(f) & 12(b) category by the UGC. The college has been accredited B+ in its third cycle.

UGC provides financial assistance to the college for various purposes, including organizing seminars, conferences, and workshops, as well as funding the construction of hostels, college buildings, and the implementation of different courses. A dedicated committee in the college oversees UGC-related affairs.

The Research and Promotion Committee is dedicated to fostering a strong research culture within the college. It aims to develop innovative study methods and ensure that research and teaching go hand in hand for knowledge enhancement. The committee actively encourages faculty members to conduct research and publish their findings in conferences, seminars, symposia, and workshops.

Additionally, the committee is responsible for organizing research-driven programs such as Workshops, Management Development Programs, Seminars, and Conferences to promote academic excellence.

The Library Advisory Committee of the college comprises the Principal as the Chairman and the Principal’s nominees as members. The committee recommends the allocation of funds for procuring books from government and UGC grants. It also reviews and approves the selection of books for purchase. Additionally, the committee periodically inspects the library to ensure a conducive study environment. It addresses students’ grievances related to library services and implements necessary redressal measures.

The NCC Committee is responsible for providing students with training and ensuring the enrollment of cadets as soon as they are admitted to the institution. The committee oversees the distribution of NCC kits and uniforms, which cadets must return in excellent condition at the end of each training year.

In addition to these committees, Dr. Dhiraj Shinde serves as the Staff Secretary, while Smt. Varsha Potdar holds the roles of Polling Officer and Coordinator for Lead College Workshops. Smt. Minaj Naikawdi is responsible for coordinating NEP and ABC ID initiatives. Shri Somnath Gayakwad and Dr. Santosh Borate oversee the preparation of the college’s annual timetable. Mr. S.D. Borate manages data capturing for MIS, NRF, AISHE, and UDISE. Additionally, Smt. Pratibha Pailwan is in charge of college publicity.
